Teen & Adolescent Counselling,
13 to 19 Years

Specialised counselling services are offered for teenagers and adolescents, recognising that this stage of life is one of the most important and transformative in human development.

Understanding the unique challenges and changes that occur during adolescence, I offer a safe and supportive environment for teens to explore their thoughts, emotions, and identity. From navigating peer pressure and academic stress to addressing family dynamics and mental health concerns. Parenting

Comprehensive parenting services that focus on creating secure attachment bonds, fostering self-esteem, and promoting connectedness within the family unit, whether it is blended or not.

I emphasise the importance of positive role modelling, allowing all family members to express themselves and develop their own identities both within and outside the family. Together, we work on establishing healthy boundaries and household rules, with the ultimate goal of creating a safe and nurturing environment for everyone involved. Trauma

A compassionate and supportive approach is applied to help children and/or parents who have experienced trauma within their family unit. I am skilled at recognising trauma triggers and working collaboratively with individuals to develop healthy strategies for managing and understanding their emotions.

My approach is to empower individuals to view themselves as survivors and to effectively manage and understand their emotional trauma triggers. I facilitate healing and growth by creating a safe and nurturing environment without judgment. I firmly believe in the power of the entire family working together to support the individual's journey towards healing, resilience, and overall wellbeing. Together, we can foster a sense of connection, understanding, and healing within the family unit.

Anxiety

Support is offered to individuals and families dealing with anxiety. Anxiety is a normal emotion that everyone experiences when faced with something new or challenging. However, when anxiety becomes heightened and starts causing difficulties in daily life without apparent reasons, it's important to seek support.

I work collaboratively with individuals to help them manage their emotions more effectively and overcome the barriers that anxiety may create. By providing a safe and supportive environment, I empower individuals to navigate their anxiety and pursue the things they want to do. Together, we can develop strategies to reduce anxiety, build resilience, and improve overall wellbeing within the family unit.

Depression

Depression can make it difficult to find joy in life and maintain strong connections with others. My approach focuses on helping individuals rediscover their sense of purpose and inner drive, which can serve as a catalyst for taking steps towards better health and wellbeing.

Counselling is beneficial for families with a member who has a disability. It helps family members understand the limits of the individual with a disability, addresses the effects disabilities have on individuals and the family unit, and promotes support and acceptance.
